Firings

Courses will be run for one week Monday to Saturday and from 9.00 to 14.00 hours. After the first week it is possible to extend the course by days. The maximum amount of students on each course will be 6, allowing for maximum attention to each persons individual requirements

Day 1.- Open fire, sawdust kiln firing, and construction of sawdust and Raku kiln.

Day 2.- Carbonation: Black pottery and special effects in glazes.

Day 3.- Cracking: Reduction and soak period to obtain lustre.

Day 4.- Raku: Quick firing to a temperature between 900 and 1000 degrees Celsius, with subsequent introduction of the pieces in sawdust.

Day 5.- Copper matt: Raku firing with a glaze of high contend of copper oxide.

Day 6.- Course review.
